Leonard E. Plachta was born on April 23, 1929. He received his B.A. and M.B.A. from the Univ. of Detroit and Ph. D. from Michigan State Univ. Dr. Plachta was a faculty member and dept. chair at Alma College and the Univ. of Detroit. He joined the faculty at CMU as a business professor in 1972. Maybee was a history professor at CMU. The Clarke Historical Library has several of his publications and his papers. The Advisory Committee developed plans for major events, publications, re-dedications of campus buildings, presentations, and a historical marker for CMU's 75th Anniversary.
